STATEMENT OF VALUES, VISION, MISSION,

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP, SLOGAN AND GENERAL GOALS

Values:

Vision:

Through widespread participation in local arts activities and emphasis on arts education, the Rusk area will continue to grow as a vibrant, creative, economically viable area.

Mission:

Grounded in the local arts community, past and present, the Rusk Area Arts Alliance (RAAA) was established as a not-for-profit alliance to further the community's perception and understanding of the arts as well as its participation in them; to provide economic opportunities for artists; and to create venues for socializing and inspiring creativity among artists and the community. 

Slogan:

Bringing the arts and the community together! 

General Goals:

  • Organize public art events and educational opportunities that utilize the talents, creativity, and enthusiasm of area artists.
  • Develop sales events, individual exhibits, art meetings, teaching demonstrations, performances, and just fun activities for and by local artists.
  • Network with and show support for other state and national arts organizations through sponsorship and/or participation in their events, when possible.

  • Establish and maintain a web-based Calendar
  • Sponsor "Meet the RAAA Artists" Receptions.
  • Participate in community events.
  • Encourage the development of new performing and visual arts groups.
  • Explore the viability of a Center for the Arts in Rusk County.
