Where do the toads go in the morn
When the moon goes down and the sun grows warm
When the damp of the dew, cooling the night
Evaporates into the hot sunlight?

Where do they hide?
Where can they be?
I search everywhere
But I cannot see.

Do they head for the beach and  the dry hot sand?
Will they slather on lotion to avoid a suntan?
Do they make for the woods and the soft cushy moss?
Will they snack on mosquitoes and sip a dew wash?
